The Night of Nosferatu

based on Nosferatu by Rabbit Hole Ensemble and Dracula by Bram Stoker

The culmination of a year's work on the subject of Nosferatu, this play became our most popular and critically acclaimed production to date. Upon opening in NYC it was picked up and presented at one of the most respected regional theaters in New England, the Wellfleet Harbor Actor's Theater on Cape Cod.

We love to tease the imagination and this macabre story lets us relish in a mysterious landscape of sounds, shadows, and things that go bump in the theatre. As usual, the production used nothing but a handful of props, bodies, voices, and some very eerie lighting to tell the story of the mysterious Count Nosferatu, his attraction to the despondent and provocative Mina Harker, and the destructive (and seductive) appeal of borders.

The first half of the story is told in Land of the Undead.
The second half is told in Nosferatu: The Morning of My Death.

"Elefterion and the cast make powerful dark magic. Rush to see it before the sun rises and it disappears."

"This production asks the audience to immerse themselves immediately into physical storytelling, complete with ensemble made atmospheric sounds, simple, but effectively moody lighting, and basic black or white costumes. It takes an initial adjustment to jump into the world that Elefterion creates, but once you’re in, The Night of Nosferatu, overall, ambitiously re-invents preconceptions of this horrific classic."

"In the horror genre, it's not necessarily the monster that gives us the chills; it's the atmosphere of suspense. Fortunately for their adaptation of Nosferatu, Rabbit Hole Ensemble has atmosphere in spades. Wood's adaptation is ingenious...a grand, spine-tingling production..."

"With direction as taut as a piano wire, Edward Elefterion’s six-person ensemble grips the audience in a vise of suspense from start to finish using few props, dramatic lighting, and self-produced sound effects in spellbinding fashion. It makes you think you’re watching a theatrical symphony with each actor’s instrument equally harmonious."

"The Night of Nosferatu is a sterling example of what top-notch acting, tense direction, a creative script and low-tech theatrical tricks like streamers of red ribbon for spurting blood can accomplish. Just ask the woman in the front row who screamed Friday night when the "blood" headed in her direction."

“The Night of Nosferatu”...is no light selection, in fact, it’s a heavy dish of ghoul that sends chills up the spine to tingle and titillate the imagination, which in the case of this production is a key ingredient."
