Edward Elefterion

Artistic Director

Edward is a director and educator who, prior to Rabbit Hole’s founding, self-produced work in New York for over a decade. Edward believes that life and time are precious and wants to spend what little of each he’ll have doing something meaningful to himself and others. Theatre provides an opportunity to create living visual and aural poetry about what it means to be alive. For Edward, the act of theatre-making is the act of several individuals collaborating and going beyond themselves to create something that is ultimately larger than any one of its parts. In that sense, as well as the fact that audiences gather to take part in the experience, theater is literally transcendent. That's why he does it, and that's what he aims for each time.

Emily Hartford

Community Relations

Emily is an actor, and was first introduced to Edward’s work as his student at Hofstra University. Upon seeing a self-produced production of his during her freshman year, Emily knew that his vision as a creator reflected completely her own aspirations. The lack of artifice in his production left bare the work of the actors: there was nowhere for them to hide and, in embracing that, they seemed to bare the souls of their characters to the audience. Emily knew immediately that such a challenge was exactly the sort of thing around which she had always hoped to build a career as an actor.
